Rules for Kinross Curling Leagues & Competitons
The rules below cover the following leagues and competitions:
Sunday Superleague
Mixed Doubles League
Development League
Ladies Superleague
Loch Levnen's Larder League
Thursday League
John Stewart Double Rink Knockout
Some of the rules have been relaxed to make it easier to play with subs.
All Leagues & Competitions
- 8 ends or the bell at 1 hour 50 minutes.
- Unlimited subs are allowed, however team members should not sub for other teams in the same or a lower division. Subs may play for more than one team.
- For leagues – 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, ends, shots up, then total shots to decide ranking.
- For leagues, if relevant – at the end of the season the top 2 teams or clubs will be promoted and the bottom 2 will be demoted. If there is a waiting list then the top 2 can enter the league.
- Score cards must be correctly completed, checked and signed.
- All game should start at the scheduled times. Games may start with only 3 players, however the full price is still due.
- No penalty points for late or absent players will be applied unless the game cannot start on time because one team has fewer than 3 players. In this case the game should start as soon as there are at least 3 players and the RCCC penalty will apply, but only for the time the game was delayed; after 5 minutes 1 end and 1 shot, after 10 minutes 1 end and 2 shots, after 15 minutes 1 end and 3 shots, after 20 minutes 2 ends and 4 shots, after 25 minutes 2 ends and 5 shots, after 30 minutes the game is forfeited and 5 ends and 6 awarded to the non-offending team.. The ice costs are still due.
- League games may be rescheduled if necessary and opposing teams must make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests. Teams should contact their opposition as soon as possible, and the game should be rescheduled to a new date before the original date has passed. Games may no be cancelled and rescheduled later. All games must be played by the final day of the league.
Sunday Superleague
Mixed Doubles League
- One male and one female player
Development League
- Any 4 curlers, but remember this is a development league
Ladies Superleague
Loch Leven's Larder League
- Any 4 curlers from the same club.
Thursday League
John Stewart Double Rink Knock Out Competition
- Any 8 curlers from the same club.
- The aggregate score will determine which club progresses to the next round.
- If scores are tied, ends won will determine the winner. If ends won are the same, then one player from each club will draw the shot.
- Rescheduling will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
